Anonymous asked: I'm moving out like you did and want to get a job that can be a ladder to success-dream and wanted to see if you had advice for me.
Well hi :)
Congrats on moving out! Do you already have a job though?! I hope. I think first year you move out or first year as an adult is all about doing grunt work. It will inspire you and also make you feel grateful for that the second year - which is the phase I’m in.
How to get a job that leads to your success? Success is something you create for yourself. You need to find a job that matches your potential and your ultimate goal. Prior knowledge isn’t always necessary, you learn on the job, school doesn’t prepare you for the real word, like, no school ever offers that.
How to get a job to get to your dream? If you know what your dream or ultimate goal is, plan, plan, plan then put into action. Think about what you want, then think about how you’re gonna get it. Does the job description you’re looking at match what YOU want?
I said this to my boyfriend the other day (and my post) -
Work really hard for what YOU want and don’t take anything less than what you want.
Only thing I’d add to that is don’t be afraid, or hold back because you’re young or inexperienced. People - even your friends will do that to you. They will say you’re young like it’s something bad. It’s not, it’s an advantage. Don’t be afraid to do what you want. You’re an adult too now, you’re independent, you have sole control and responsibility for your own happiness, finances, self-love, joy, success and knowledge.
And be prepared to not be your parents’ baby. Because they might say you’ll always be their baby, but no, not really.
The world’s pretty tough, but that makes everything worth more.
